Via Hanseatica gets recognition among international audience
Within XI All Russian forum Strategic planning in the regions and cities of Russia at 22nd and 23rd October were held third working group and second steering committee meeting of Via Hanseatica. During two days participants discussed implemented activities so far, decided about next steps for future and presented “Via Hanseatica” to international public of forum. The forum brought together about 1000 participants - the state council members, ministries, governments of cities and municipalities, representatives of Russian and European organizations. Eleventh All-Russian forum focused on a new strategy for the development of the potential of regional and urban development. During two days in several sessions participants discussed examples of good practice in regional development in Europe and Russia in tourism, economic and environmental sphere. Forum was a great opportunity to create recognition of Via Hanseatica tourism route in international level, to promote sustainable tourism development and strengthen cooperation with Russian partners. The presentation got a great response and interest among forum participants.
Via Hanseatica is a tourism route that connects several cities in different countries - St Petersburg, Narva/Ivangorod, Tartu, Valga/Valka, Valmiera, Sigulda and Riga. The project aim is facilitating the territorial development of remote areas in Estonia, Latvia and Russia, by using the potential of the Via Hanseatica tourism route.
